Shared Education Begins for Primary 7
On Wednesday, Primary 7 visited our friends in St Mary's PS to begin their series of shared lessons. This term, pupils will be creating a computer game using the app. Sketch Nation. Our day started with a 'Name the Game' quiz, with one night off homework up for grabs to anyone who could correctly identify all 20 games from their signature icon. The closest we got was 19/20!
With help from James from the AmmA Centre, we then worked in pairs to come up with a story for our games. As our current WAU topic is the human body, all of our games needed to use this topic as a theme. For example, one group has a weak bone for their main character. His challenge will be to collect foods which are rich in Calcium and Vitamin D! Once we had decided on our story we then designed the main game character and an enemy. We had to describe these characters in some detail - just like writing a story! Our characters could either be drawn freehand or on 'pixel' paper.
We really enjoyed our first lesson and are looking forward to lesson 2!
