Shared Education - Relax Kids Workshop
Today, Tuesday 10th April, 2018, we and our friends in St Mary's Primary School enjoyed a fun and relaxing taster session with a representative from Relax Kids. Each class had the opportunity to learn about the importance of keeping our minds and bodies healthy and we learnt some tips to help us cope when we feel worried, stressed, anxious and annoyed. We were taught about the importance of breathing slowing and deeply and how to use the stress buttons that we have on our hands to help us feel calm. On of the most powerful words that we can use is 'yet'...so when we think we cannot do something or we are unable to complete a task, we should stay positive and add those three little letters and say ...I can't do that YET! Making us feel positive and enthusiastic about the fact that with determination and perseverance, we will be able to do it! Five key things to say to ourselves are.... I am relaxed, I am calm, I am confident, I am happy and I am kind. We all had an enjoyable session working with our friends from St Mary's Primary School. We look forward to using some of the Relax Kids tips and exercises in class and school. We hope that all the parents who attended the evening workshop held in Aughnacloy Golf Club learnt as much as we did. Healthy, Happy little minds are key to helping us to develop into healthy and happy adults in the future.
