Sampling the delights of our garden produce!
We recently harvested our garden produce in school. The children were busy from different classes harvesting a great crop of vegetables. As a result we were able to hold a soup afternoon for parents and grandparents in school. Freshly made vegetable soup was made from our garden ingredients, with staff and pupils all getting busy picking, washing and preparing vegetables from the garden!Well done to all classes who successfully planted vegetables such as turnips, parsley, carrots, parsnips and potatoes!Thank you to all parents who were able to attend! I think you will agree the soup went down a treat! A big thank you has to go to Mrs Lorraine Allen, owner of the Diamond bakery in Aughnacloy for making such beautiful wheaten bread to accompany our soup! You can find a copy of our very special recipe below!
