Today as part of our Eco Schools work we made some bird feeders for our feathered friends. We have all noticed a drop in the temperature this week and have heard the weather forecast for snow and sub zero temperatures towards the end of the week, so we decided to make some bird food. We mixed melted lard, porridge oats, raisins and breadcrumbs together and put it into recycled plastic bottles. When the lard has set overnight, we will hang the bird feeders up outside in the school grounds and watch as our feathered friends come and enjoy the snack when it is hard to find food in the cold and frost.
