On Thursday 9th March, 2017 Hannah in Primary 6 took part in the Music Makers Concert held in Dungannon Leisure Centre. Hannah played her brass instrument (trumpet) as part of a large orchestra, consisting of approximately 100 children from Primary and Secondary Schools within the Southern Education Area. Hannah receives brass tuition here in school once a week with Mr Dinsmore and has attended 20 weeks of Music Makers (wind band) on Thursday nights in Dungannon Teacher's Centre. The concert was the finale of 20 week's hard work and dedication. We are all very proud of Hannah and look forward to seeing other boys and girls joining with her next year. What a fantastic experience to play in an orchestra and be part of a large band. Well done, Hannah. We look forward to hearing you play some of your pieces in Assembly. The United Nations Conventions on The Rights of the Child reminds us that every child has the right to express themselves and develop their abilities to the full. In our school we certainly celebrate everyone's achievements and encourage all pupils in their various abilities, activities and exercises.
