Gardening Club - Week 2
This morning Darren and Mrs Moore feared that we would have to postpone After School Gardening club due to the heavy rain overnight which continued throughout the morning...but by lunch time and late afternoon the sun had come out and the heat had got up and it was all good to go! There were quite a few happy boys and girls! So the wellies and old clothes were put on and outside we went. There was plenty of digging and preparing of the raised beds. Some of us dug in the compost we have made from our healthy break peelings and cores etc, while others made some more paper bricks. No one was work shy and were happy to get stuck in. Hopefully the sun will shine on us next week and we will start to get some seeds and bulbs planted both in the green house and in some of the raised beds and pots. It is lovely to see some of last year's bulbs coming up. A few pupils went happily home with some potatoes that they dug up from the raised beds. I am lead to believe that some were even cooked and eaten this evening for tea! A great after school club with eager and enthusiastic helpers.
