Farm Safety Talk
Today we welcomed a visitor to school to talk to us about farm safety. Paul delivered a programme called 'Be aware kids, Child Safety on Farms.' We all learnt a lot about various dangers on the farm and tips on how to stay safe and avoid dangers. One interesting fact that Paul made us aware of is that it is illegal for a child under the age of 13 to be on a tractor. We watched an informative video, telling the story of life on a farm from the point of view of two children. They took us on a journey around their farm and showed us how they keep safe and still are able to enjoy living on a farm. Every child received a booklet with lots of interesting books and activities inside. I am sure parents and grandparents will enjoy hearing all about the fun facts we learnt in school today.
The UNCRC Article 32 reminds us of the important role that Governments play in helping to keep children safe...
