Celebration of Books and Reading
We all enjoyed an impromptu couple of days off school, thanks to ex-hurricane Ophelia! Though we were all itching to get back to see our friends and also to show off our costumes as we came to school today dressed as one of our favourite book characters. A huge congratulations and well done to everyone who entered into the spirit of things. We had many colourful characters in school today, including....The B.F.G, Little Red Riding Hood, The Stickman, Mathilda, Charlie Bucket, Grandpa Joe and Grandma Georgina, Mr Willie Wonka, some of the Three Little Pigs, Gangsta Grannies and many other interesting characters. Well done to everyone. We know how much effort you put into making this day a success, so THANK-YOU! A huge thanks also for the continued support for our Scholastic Book Fair, which is now closed. We are delighted to report that the FANTASTIC sum of £1438.71 was collected during the fair. We will be able to buy some new resources for our school thanks to your support. Many thanks. Enjoy looking at the photographs of all the super book characters we had in school today.
Mrs Moore had the pleasure of awarding over 30 Accelerated Reader Certificates to boys and girls from Primary 2 to 7 this morning in assembly, in recognition of all their great reading throughout the months of September and October.
