2018 Eco-Speak Competition in Cookstown
Primary 7 pupil, Hannah represented Aughnacloy Primary School on Tuesday 17th April, 2018 at the Burnavon Centre in Cookstown at the 3rd Annual Eco-Speak competition for the Mid-Ulster District Council Area. She, along with 21 other pupils from schools throughout the Mid-Ulster Region delivered a speech on the subject of 'Blue Bin Recycling - What Difference Does It Make?' The standard of competition was extremely high and Mrs Moore would admit that she was much more nervous than any of the competitors! The panel of 9 judges commented that they were blown away with the standard and amount of research that the young people had undertaken as well as the confidence and flair that they used to deliver their speeches. No one envied their task of choosing 4 finalists, who got to make their speeches again for the whole audience and three new judges! Hannah was successful in being chosen as one of the final four and certainly delivered her recycling message very well for the second time that morning! All 22 speeches were excellent and particularly those delivered by the 4 finalists. Hannah did herself and her school proud. She received a fantastic Goody Bag, sponsored by Re-Gen, filled with lots of treats, and a £30 voucher for getting through to the final. Well done, Hannah. Everyone in Aughnacloy Primary School is so proud of you. Watch out Mid-Ulster District Council staff, your jobs are not safe!
