The Child Brain Injury Trust special assembly

26th Jan 2018

Every 30 minutes, a child or young person will acquire a brain injury. This could be the result of an accident, an illness such as meningitis or encephalitis, a poisoning, a stroke or a brain tumour.

The Child Brain Injury Trust is a charity that supports children, young people, their families and professionals and helps them come to terms with what has happened and how to deal with the uncertainty that the future may hold. We were delighted to have this very special charity in school with us on Thursday. They gave a very informative talk on brain injuries and how we can be a good friend to someone who has had a brain injury. Hannah and Rebekah enjoyed being volunteers for the egg helmet test and the boys and girls enjoyed a very informative quiz on our brains! We even had a jelly brain to touch to give us an idea of what our brains look and feel like. We look forward to supporting this charity this year in school.
