Safer Internet Day- Tuesday 7th February, 2017

9th Feb 2017

Today we had a special visitor in school from the PSNI who came to talk to the boys and girls in Mrs Moore's P4 class, Mrs Mills' P5, Mrs Loane's P6 and Mrs Porter's P6/7 classes about the importance of staying safe on the internet. We all learnt about some of the dangers associated with using the internet and Sue told us about some of the scenarios that she has come across in her career. We were reminded of different ways to stay safe while using the internet and were encouraged to remind ourselves and our parents of the legal age for using some games and resources. We all enjoyed the message that Sue shared with us and look forward to sharing her tips with our friends. Sue will be back in school again next term. As Article 17 reminds us Every child has the right to reliable information from a variety of sources. and governments encourage the media to provide information that children can understand. Governments must help protect children from materials that could harm them.
