Roots of Empathy 30th March, 2017

30th Mar 2017

Maureen, Baby Leah and Mrs Loane were in school this morning as part of our Roots of Empathy Programme. We are exploring the theme of Who Am I? at the moment and as part of this theme we were finding out about who baby Leah is and how she reacts to different things. We observed how Leah reacted to a food she recognised and is familiar with and also how she explored a new food. We learnt about how Mrs Loane and her husband chose Leah's name and we though about the meaning behind some of our names. We look forward to finding out about our own names as part of the R.O.E programme. We sang to baby Leah today. She was able to join in with the clapping in the song, If You're Happy And You Know It. She laughed and Mrs Loane helped her to join in with the actions to the song Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes. We were all very sad to se baby Leah leave today. We had as much fun as she had. We just love to see her come in to our class each time.

Article 7 reminds us that Every child has the right to a name.
