Roots of Empathy - Keeping Baby Safe - Theme

15th Mar 2018

On Wednesday Darren, our Roots of Empathy facilitator joined Mrs Moore's class for our next Roots of Empathy lesson. Our new theme is all about Safety and how to keep a baby safe. We looked at a number of different scenarios and objects that might seem harmless, but should be kept out of the reach of babies and small children. We talked about the dangers in our own homes and we all agreed that younger boys and girls look up to older boys and girls and often copy what they do. We realise the important job we have to help keep ourselves and our younger friends and family members safe. There was a lot of discussion about safe ways to store dangerous objects such as medicines and bleach, as well as safe ways to carry scissors etc. Super talking and listening from everyone and such sensible thinking and answers during discussions. We continue to enjoy our Roots of Empathy lessons with Darren.
