RNLI Talk for P2, P3 and P4 Classes

20th Jan 2017

On Wednesday Mrs Moore's class enjoyed a follow-up visit from Peter representing the RNLI in this area. Peter had taken a whole school assembly last term and was able to return to work in Mrs Moore and Miss Kyle's classes this week as part of their Under the Sea World Around Us topic work. Peter showed us some interesting video footage of the training that the RNLI volunteers undergo. We were really impressed and Mrs Moore said that she would not like to be put into the training pool in the dark and in high winds. It looked quite scary! The highlight for us all was trying on some of the gear that an RNLI volunteer wears. It was very difficult to get into the dry suit, but there were plenty of volunteers! We hope you enjoy looking at our photographs and it is obvious how much we have enjoyed finding out about the RNLI from our excited faces. We are really looking forward to welcoming Peter back to school again when we have carried out some fund raising activities for this very worthwhile charity.
